Who Am I?
Hi, I'm Jason Buckman.
I am a fourth-year majoring in Science, Technology, & Society with a concentration in Biology (and a couple of minors) at Stevens Institute of Technology. I have experience working in both immuno-oncology and molecular biology labs at UConn Health Center and at Stevens, where I have had the opportunity to design and conduct my own experiments and learn many applied skills. I also have industry experience, as I spent the summer of 2020 interning in the Skin Biology research and development lab at Estee Lauder, where I returned in Summer 2021 working with Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs.
I have a unique background in both the sciences and the humanities, which is why I chose my particular major. It has allowed me to retain my foundation in science, particularly biology, but it has also allowed me to embrace soft skills like writing and communication, and even graphic design. This enables me to think outside of the box and experiment and present my data more creatively.
I hope to have a future career working in industry (cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, etc.) research and development, and I am always looking for new opportunities to gain more experience!
